CPU board boosts processing, but not
power usage
Based on the Intel Core 2 Duo processor up to the E6400 (2 x 2.16 GHz) and a TDP of 65W, applications benefit from double the performance with power consumption similar to a Pentium 4.
Kontron has released the PCI-759 PICMG 1.0 slot-CPU board with Intel multicore performance The Kontron PCI-759 offers processor performance for industrial-grade embedded applications such as process control, test and measurement and vision systems

Since the Kontron PCI-759 conforms to the PICMG 1.0 specification, upgrading existing systems is quick and easy.
Designed around the Intel 945G chipset with a 1066MHz front side bus and Intel ICH7 I/O controller hub, the Kontron PCI-759 slot-CPU board offers scalable processor performance based on the Intel LGA7555 socket up to the E6400 (2 x 2.16 GHz) Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
Support for up to 4Gbyte of DDR2 dual-channel RAM boosts performance further.
Application flexibility is provided by a full range of I/O interfaces, including four 3Gbit/s SATA II for fast hard drive access, two GbE, seven USB 2.0, one parallel and two serial interfaces.
Additional interfaces can be implemented via the mini-PCI Type IIIA connector.
Kontron offers additional assemblies for LAN, WLAN and SCSI.
The integrated Intel GMA 950 Graphics Media Accelerator supports VGA resolutions up to 2048 x 1536.
There is also 24bit LCDS via DVO that supports resolutions up to 1600 x 1200.
An integrated onboard socket for a Compact Flash module makes it possible to build maintenance-free systems without rotating nonvolatile memory.
The Kontron PCI-759 PICMG 1.0 board is available with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Linux software packages.
Additional operating systems are possible on a project basis.
