PowerPC board users get diagnositcs CD

A kDiagnostics CD is now shipping with Freescale PowerPC-based reference platforms.

A kDiagnostics CD from Kozio is now shipping with all Freescale PowerPC MPC8349E-mITX reference platforms.

A Kozio CD will be included with the reference kit, providing customers with in-depth information about the company's kDiagnostics product, including reference materials, videos, datasheets and more.

An easy-to-use guide leads Freescale customers through a simple download of a free evaluation version of the product from the Kozio web site - and then shows them how to move through the menu of automated diagnostics for all board-level functional tests.

Kozio provides automated hardware diagnostics suited for board bring-up, manufacturing test and power-on self-test.

"This is the first time we've shipped our kDiagnostics CD with a Freescale kit; it's a very exciting opportunity to make the most of the unique working relationship we've built with Freescale", says Al Arendt of Kozio "This gives Freescale customers the chance to see just how easy it is to get board-level diagnostics for their custom boards using the PowerQUICC family of processors".

Arendt adds: "Freescale has put our tools through rigorous screening and evaluation internally".

After evaluating the Kozio software, customers can easily get a full version of the software for their own custom circuit board.

Kozio only requires a schematic and purchase order to deliver the preconfigured diagnostics in just 2 to 10 days.

The evaluation software allows customers to explore the various benefits of the Kozio offering - including proven test suites for the PowerQUICC processor MPC8349E, SDRAM, Compact Flash, 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, TSEC, GMII, USB 2.0, USB 1, Serial ATA, PCI/MiniPCI, EEPROM, RTC, LCD, RS232/UART, Flash, and full hardware access capabilities.
