Suite set to redefine digital board testing
Newest version of kDiagnostics is most significant release in recent years and includes new technologies based on customer feedback.
Embedded support for new PowerPC processor
Embedded systems software developer Kozio is supporting AMCC's new 440GR PowerPC processor for networking applications.
The new tools enable electronics manufacturers to reduce their effort and cost of getting circuit board production test up and running.
With kDiagnostics Manufacturing Suite, testers and developers can quickly build and run thorough board tests, perform in-system programming of any device, capture and report all testing information, and deploy an easy to read "pass/fail" graphical user interface.
This new offering addresses the need for better test coverage and the need to eliminate manual and error-prone operations performed on the production line.

Diagnostics software helps in PowerPC evaluation
AMCC's newly introduced PowerPC 440EP evaluation kit includes Kozio's kDiagnostics software.
Before kDiagnostics Manufacturing Suite, testers would spend weeks or months assembling device tests from scratch, or from poorly documented test code, using various scripts and utilities.
Now, test engineers choose desired tests to run, list all test actions to be performed, and have the operator click start to run the fully automated sequence.
Test development, troubleshooting, execution and reporting can be accomplished from any networked location.
The Manufacturing Suite is an integrated suite of tools that delivers an embedded functional test application for the device under test along with reusable host tools for test sequence execution, test tracking and test reporting.
This suite combines four products: kDiagnostics for at-speed functional testing of core memories, buses and peripherals with automatic in-system programming; SequenceRunner for test sequence execution; SequenceReporter for test report generation based on a device, test station and operator; and a command line interface for integration with existing test executives and processes.
"Our research has found that companies of all sises desire an automated functional test solution for the devices they are manufacturing", says Joseph Skazinski, President of Kozio.
"We are pleased to offer a one-button test system that reduces development effort and reduces operator interaction".
kDiagnostics Manufacturing Suite test automation software is available from February 2008.
Pricing for the host tools starts at US $2450.
kDiagnostics and kPOST are available now and are priced based on the microprocessor(s) supported.
Two week delivery is standard.
