Kwality Photonics has moved into the power LED market with a range of super flux LEDs (also known as high flux LEDs).

Super flux LEDs operate at current levels as high as 170mA to deliver brightness output of about 25,000mcd.

These super flux LEDs can also operate at the lower current levels of 20mA where brightness output falls to 3000mcd.

For lower input current applications, the connector uses only two terminals of the LED.

In the case of higher current outdoor requirements, four terminals are used, providing an effective heatsink.

Super flux LEDs are ideal for retrofit applications where replacement of existing incandescent light bulbs is desired.

Benefits include: more uniform illumination, 90% reduction in power consumption and 10 times longer life.

Super flux LEDs can be used to simulate point light sources for enhanced optical performance.

They exhibit more flicker resistance and reduce current draw and their 5+ year life reduces maintenance costs.

Super Flux LEDs are ideal for sunlight applications such as traffic control lights, automobile brake lights and outdoor signs.

Other typical applications include: automotive exterior tail lights, brake and side marker lighting; interior lighting, displays and signage, backlighting, status indication for industrial controls and machinery, and any status lights that must be viewed from long distance.
