Laplace has introduced a range of EMC test cells aimed at the self-test and self-certification market As most engineers are now aware, self-certification is for many products the quickest and most economical route to compliance

The main problem has been the difficulty in making accurate and repeatable radiated emissions measurements.

The use of a test cell helps overcome these drawbacks and provides the additional benefit of enabling RFI immunity testing to IEC61000-4-3 standard.

The Lc300 and Lc600 are compact test cells, fully calibrated for radiated emissions and immunity field strength.

They will accept products up to 35cm cube and 60cm cube, respectively.

That means the larger cell will take a 19 rack up to 13U in height.

All cells include field sensor, interlocked door, viewing window and a filter assembly with power and control/signal interconnections.

The emissions calibration converts measurements to those which would have been made on a 3m open-area test site and the immunity calibration covers the range to over 10V/m.

Ancilliary equipment includes EMC analyser, RFI synthesiser and power amplifier.

For control and display a fully integrated Windows software package is provided.

This features simplicity of use and a built-in TestDirector function which acts as an expert assistant, providing information about the various standards, appropriate test techniques and measurement configurations.
