Lattice Semiconductor has announced the immediate availability of the Mentor Graphics' Precision RTL synthesis tool for customer use.

Lattice Semiconductor has announced the immediate availability of the Mentor Graphics' Precision RTL synthesis tool for customer use Precision RTL synthesis was added to the Lattice ispLever design tool suite as part of a multi-year contract extension announced in October 2004

Full support for all Lattice digital programmable logic devices, including the new LatticeECP-DSP and LatticeEC FPGA families, is included in this product release.

Lattice also continues to offer a wide range of leading synthesis and simulation tools with ispLever, including Mentor Graphics LeonardoSpectrum synthesis and the ModelSim simulator.

"Lattice is pleased to announce the availability of Precision RTL synthesis for customer use", said Stan Kopec, Lattice Vice President of Corporate Marketing.

"The Precision RTL tool will provide our users with outstanding functionality and higher performance in synthesis, especially for our new, leading edge FPGA families", Kopec concluded.

The Precision RTL synthesis tool is optimised to deliver superior synthesis results quickly and easily.

In addition, Precision RTL provides a breadth of advanced design creation and design analysis capabilities, including a full-featured, ASIC-strength static timing analysis tool and intuitive design project management.

Precision RTL synthesis will be fully integrated into the ispLever 5.0 Project Navigator, scheduled for Q2 2005.

Currently, users may run Precision RTL in a stand-alone mode and create an EDIF (Electronic Data Interchange Format) project in the ispLever design environment.

Precision RTL synthesis will replace Mentor Graphics LeonardoSpectrum synthesis tools in the ispLever design flow in 2005.

Users of ispLever design tools with active maintenance agreements will be notified of the transition details at the appropriate time.

Maintenance for the ispLever design tools may be purchased through the Lattice Semiconductor website.

The Precision RTL synthesis tool is available now.

Lattice ispLever design tools users with active maintenance agreements can download the Precision RTL synthesis tool free of charge from the Lattice website.
