Lattice Semiconductor has announced the immediate availability of the first device in its ispMACH 5000VG SuperBIG CPLD family, the 1024-macrocell ispMACH 51024VG.
In-system reprogrammable 5th-order lowpass filter

In August 2004, Lattice, with Tyco Electronics, successfully demonstrated a complete solution for the Open Basestation Architecture Initiative (OBSAI) Reference Point 3 (RP3) interface.
The solution provides soft IP implemented in FPGA gates to address data link layer functionality, while utilising the industry-leading embedded serdes and PCS core of the device to fulfill the physical layer requirements for the communication of RP3 packets over Tyco's unique backplane connector for slim slot spacing and/or high speed cable assembly.
More recently, Lattice has added a rake receiver to its library of system-level reference designs.
A rake receiver is a fundamental building block in many CDMA systems.
Such systems include the third generation (3G) wireless mobile telephony systems WCDMA and CDMA2000.
Lattice's reference designs are made available to its strategic customers free of charge, as part of Lattice's total system solutions.
