Lauterbach now provides full support for the ST10F276 with its Trace32-Fire in-circuit emulator.
This logic is integrated in the configurable soft cores as VHDL code and serves as the interface to the debuggers and trace tools, enabling convenient high-level-language debugging.
The connection to the host computer (which can be a PC, portable computer or other type of workstation) is provided via a range of reliable debug modules with USB, parallel and Ethernet interfaces.
Using the PowerTrace Ethernet connection, the trace port developed by Lauterbach for the Nios II can record the program and data flow of the soft core in real time.
The trace memory has a maximum size of 512Mbyte and currently operates at a rate of 300MHz.
Each record is marked with a timestamp with 25ns resolution.
Debugging at HLL and assembler levels, an unlimited number of software breakpoints, batch processing, and the use of on-chip break logic are all standard features.
Together with performance analysis, code coverage analysis, statistic functions, a timing diagram of trace data, and RTOS support, a context tracking system capable of reconstructing the content of local variables is also included.
