Debugger gains awareness of operating system
Microprocessor development tools from Lauterbach now provide kernel awareness for the Windows CE.net operating system from Microsoft.
With the addition of the Eclipse plug-in, users can start the user interface of the Trace32 PowerView debugger from the Eclipse IDE, and the breakpoints between the two interfaces are synchronised.
Furthermore, there is a direct link between the source code window of the Lauterbach debugger and the Eclipse editor.
Even complex projects, such as the simultaneous debugging of more than one processor core (multicore debugger), can be handled.
Lauterbach's Trace32 PowerView integrated user interface provides everything system developers need for their daily work, such as positioning of on-chip hardware breakpoints, access to peripheral equipment, registers and Flash memory, an unlimited number of software breakpoints in the RAM and Flash memories, debugging at HLL and assembler levels, programmable Flash memory, and support of the most commonly used C and C++ compilers.
Together with performance analysis, code coverage analysis, statistic functions, a timing diagram of trace data, and RTOS support, a context tracking system capable of reconstructing the content of local variables is also included.
The Trace32 plug-in can be used with the standard Eclipse version 3.1.2 or later versions.
Installation is performed using the Eclipse software update mechanism.
This plug-in is available for all Trace32 users with valid software service contracts at no extra charge.
