Debuggers support latest Infineon processors
The existing Infineon C166S V2 debugger has been enhanced with new processor architecture for the Infineon XE166 family.
Trace32 ICD and Trace32 PowerTools debuggers from Lauterbach now support the new Infineon XE166 processor family.
The XE166 controllers combine not only a C166S V2 core with different peripherals and various on-chip flash memory capacities but also a digital signal processor (DSP), and can run at a maximum clock rate of 80MHz.
The existing Infineon C166S V2 debugger has been enhanced with new processor architecture for the Infineon XE166 family and supports rapid and efficient debugging at the C or C++ levels over the chip-integrated debugging interface.
Over the processor's OCDS interface, the debugger can quickly access all internal chip units such as hardware breakpoints, peripheral units, register, and flash memory.
It connects to a host computer running Windows or Linux over USB 2.0 or Ethernet 10/100 or 1000Mbit/s.
This also makes it possible to program the flash memory.
An unlimited number of software breakpoints in the RAM and Flash memory areas, debugging at the HLL and assembler levels, and support of the most commonly used C and C++ compilers are standard features.
The software of available C166S V2 debuggers can be easily updated to support this family of processors.
Furthermore, the use of Trace32 PowerIntegrator and Trace32 PowerProbe means that a further two logic analyser modules are available for recording additional information.
PowerProbe can sample 64 channels at a sampling rate of up to 100MHz, and PowerIntegrator can sample 204 channels at a sampling rate of up to 500MHz.
