Half brick power module eases PCB space
Lambda is introducing a new range of space saving 'half brick' single and dual output DC-DC power modules, ideal for telecommunications, computing and control
Lambda, the leading power supply manufacturer, is introducing a new range of space saving 'half brick' single and dual output DC-DC power modules.
Ideal for a wide range of markets including telecommunications, computing and control, the PAH range operates from a nominal input of 48V DC and offers outputs ranging from 2.5 to 28V DC.
The family provides a wide range of power options with 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200W models all available.
The first to be launched is the PAH75D48-5033, a 75W version with dual outputs (5 and 3.3V).
It has an operating temperature range of -40 to +100C and features conduction cooling, remote control, over voltage, over current and over temperature protection.
Isolation withstand voltage is: input-to-output 1.5kV DC; input-to- baseplate 1.5kV DC for 1 min.; and output-to-baseplate 500V DC for 1 min.
With a footprint of 58mm x 61mm and weight of only 80 grams combined with a low profile of less than 13mm, the new PAH75D48-5033 DC-DC module brings significant benefits to designers looking to maximise board space.
"Industry standard DC-DC converters of this type are becoming extremely popular," said Martin Southam, Lambda UK's sales and marketing director.
"In fact they are becoming so popular, designers are having trouble getting their hands on them in sufficient quantities.
The introduction of the PAH family solves this problem of "shortage" giving designers a cost-effective alternative to industry-standard types made by Lucent and others".
PAH converters are CE marked in accordance with the low voltage directive and carry a range of international approvals including UL1950, EN60950 and CSA950.
