Power supplies deliver high power density
TDK-Lambda has announced the EFE Series of embedded front-end power supplies designed to deliver high power density, high efficiency and enhanced reliability.
"This award is due recognition for the inventiveness that maintains Lambda's leading edge reputation in configurable power supply design.
I never cease to be amazed by the innovation that our design and engineering team continually produce".
The idea of incorporating a secondary winding into the output module construction came from the need to reduce expensive labour costs.
Conventional secondaries use wound transformers whose assembly are extremely labour intensive and thus costly.
Several brainstorming sessions later and the Alpha team came up with a unique solution that not only eliminated the labour intensive operations but also allowed production lead times to be reduced to the point where 24-hour deliveries could be achieved.
Alpha is now available in three power levels: 400, 600 and 1000W with up to 14 outputs.
Alpha's inherently flexible modular design means that for those customers whose voltage requirements lie beyond that of standard units, Lambda is able to provide a carefully matched solution that is easy to specify, easy to fit, easy to buy.
