20W DC/DC convertor offers SM or
through-hole

Lambda has unveiled the new 20W X20, the latest addition to its X-Series of DC/DC convertors.

Lambda has unveiled the new 20W X20, the latest addition to its X-Series of DC/DC convertors The arrival of the new unit means that the X-Series now comprises 20, 15, and 10W models

The X20 is the first to be offered in a choice of both through-hole and surface mount types.

The surface mount version, the SX20, is ideal for designers looking to move to a fully automated production process.

Both types are supplied in compact low-profile packages.

The X20's high-quality construction, low output noise and high power efficiency, makes it ideal for telecommunications infrastructure and IT network applications.

The through-hole version is packaged in an industry-standard low-profile 10.2 x 25.4 x 50.8mm plastic case.

The surface mount SX20 has an 'open frame' construction, measures 9.0 x 29.3 x 49.5mm and weighs just 14g.

Both types have a wide input of 18 to 36 or 36 to 75V DC.

The X20's single output can be specified as 5, 3.3, 2.5 or 1.8V.

The convertors have high efficiencies, typically 85% for a 5V unit and 83% for a 3.3V output.

The outputs are isolated from the input, allowing the user to implement a variety of polarity configurations and grounding connections.

Input-to-output isolation is 1500V.

The DC/DC modules have very tight output voltage tolerances and the output voltage can be adjusted between 90% and 110% of the nominal output value.

Output current limiting, output overvoltage and undervoltage lockout are all standard features.

Built-in filtering for both input and output minimises the need for external filtering.

There is a choice of on/off configuration including synchronisation and remote on/off.

CE marked in accordance with the 73/23 and 93/68 EEC directives, the new X20 complies with all major safety standards, including UL, CSA, and VDE.

The X20 operates over a wide temperature range of -40 to +105C and in addition to communications markets is aimed at distributed power architectures in IT and industrial applications. Request a free brochure from TDK-Lambda UK ...
