Pulse load current drives supplies to
new peaks

Lambda has added pulse load current capability (PAF) to its popular and highly flexible ZWS family of power supplies.

Lambda has added pulse load current capability (PAF) to its popular and highly flexible ZWS family of power supplies The pulse load current feature means that the new ZWS-PAF can deliver up to 200% of its average wattage at its peak point

This makes it ideal for applications such as motor drives where peak power is needed for short periods of time, for example in card readers, ticket vending machines and printers.

The new supply also boasts impressive high power density: being up to 30% smaller and delivering 40% more peak power than its nearest rivals.

The new ZWS-PAF series is available in two power ratings: 150 and 240W.

Both units have a single 24V DC output.

The ZWS150-PAF has a 6.6A average output current and 12A peak output current.

The ZWS240-PAF meanwhile has an average output current of 10A and a rated peak output current of 20A.

Designers have a choice of input: either 85 to 265V AC or 120 to 370V DC, making it suitable for a wide range of applications throughout the world.

EN61000-3-2 compliant, the ZWS-PAF has a typical power factor rating of 0.99/0.95.

Efficiency is typically 82%.

The new switch mode power supplies also boast a very low leakage current of only 0.5mA.

Other notable features include over current and over voltage protection, remote on/off control, series operation, and a choice of either Molex or JST connectors, the latter making it very easy to install.

Operating temperature range is -10 to +60C.

The new units carry a host of approvals.

They conform to VCCI-B, FCC B, EN55011/EN55022 Class B conducted EMI standards and immunity is in accordance with EN61000-4-2,3,4,5,6,11.

All key world-wide safety standards are met including UL1950, CSA950, and EN60950, VDE0160.

The power supplies are built to meet DENTORI requirements.

Although an ideal solution for powering motor drives, the ZWS-PAF is also suitable for a wide and varied range of computing, telecommunications and process control applications. Request a free brochure from Lambda ...
