Multiple-output supplies gain military approval
Lambda's compact NV-175 and NV-350 multiple-output power supplies have been granted approval in line with the stringent demands of US military standard MIL-STD-801E.
Part of Lambda's new "no compromise" NV-Power range of class-leading high-density and environmentally friendly AC/DC power supplies, the new NV-175 is the ideal solution for space-constrained applications, such as in instrumentation, broadcast, medical, ATE, automation and high-end IT systems.
At the heart of the new NV-175 is Lambda's patented multiresonant topology (MRT), a unique use of synchronous rectifiers in a resonant technology through which the new supply is able to slash switching losses and achieve high efficiencies of up to 90%.
Significantly increasing the efficiency through multiple efficiency gain (MEG) technology has meant that Lambda has not had to compromise size for power and the new NV-175 is a very compact 32 x 76 x 125mm that is 1U tray compatible.
At only 0.23kg it weighs typically 20% less than competing supplies.
The NV-175 has a very clean simple design with no power components on the underside of the main power board, which is always a difficult area to cool.
Lower heat dissipation with evenly distributed power components eliminates the need for heatsinks and the NV-175's open construction means it is easily cooled by system airflow.
The new 175W PSU gives designers up to five outputs.
Currently, output voltages of between 0.9 and 15V (1 to 25A) are available, with more options planned for the near future.
The NV-175 has no minimum load requirement and features an optional high power standby of 5V/2A (2.5A peak).
Global on/off and power good signals are also available as an option.
Thanks to its patented soft switching MRT design, the NV-175 has inherently low EMI emissions, aided by the use of silicon carbide Schottky diodes.
Unique for this class of product, the NV-175 has EN60601 medical approval combined with EN55022 level B conducted emissions.
EN61010 (instrumentation) and EN60950 approvals are also met. Request a free brochure from Lambda ...
