TDK acquires Lambda
Lambda, the global power supply specialist based in Ilfracombe, UK, has been acquired from Invensys by TDK Corporation of Japan in a deal worth $235 million.
Lambda, the global power supply specialist based in Ilfracombe, UK, has been acquired from Invensys by TDK Corporation of Japan in a deal worth $235 million (GBP 134 million) The agreement, which was signed on 19th July 2005 and is subject to regulatory approval, includes Lambda's entire North American and European operations, as well as Invensys' current 58.2% shareholding in Densei Lambda in Japan

Lambda had sales of GBP 229 million last year, and an operating profit, before exceptional charges are deducted, of GBP 11 million.
The business will continue to operate globally through its engineering, manufacturing and sales channels to deliver competitive products for its customers.
