Filters cut the cost of compliance

Two new families of very competitively priced filters from Lambda UK make it easy and inexpensive for engineers to enhance the EMC performance of almost any type of electronic equipment.

Two new families of very competitively priced filters from Lambda UK make it easy and inexpensive for engineers to enhance the EMC performance of almost any type of electronic equipment Fully compliant with the latest RoHS requirements and suitable for use at up to 250V, the new MA12 and MX12 filters are available in 6, 10, 16, 20 and 30A models, all of which are offered in DIN rail and chassis-mounting versions

MA12 filters incorporate a single-stage LC network, and are an ideal low-cost choice for standard applications.

They provide efficient attenuation of conducted RFI over the frequency range 150kHz to 1MHz.

To meet the needs of more demanding applications, MX12 filters use a two-stage network, and provide attenuation over the frequency range 150kHz to 30MHz.

As MA12 and MX12 filters have identical dimensions and connections, it is a simple matter to replace an MA12 unit with its MX12 equivalent if, in a particular installation, additional filtration proves desirable.

The filters have a low leakage current of less than 1mA at 250V, 60Hz, and provide isolation between terminals and baseplate which is tested to 2,500V.

Their low series resistance - 120mohm maximum for 6A types and 6mohm maximum for 30A types - guarantees minimal voltage drop across the filter.

All products in Lambda's new MA12 and MX12 filter ranges share a common compact housing, measuring just 90 x 40 x 50mm, making them easy to accommodate, even when space is restricted.

As an aid to fast, easy wiring, they feature convenient screw-clamp terminals with captive screws.

Lambda MA12 and MX12 filters can be operated continuously at their full rated current over the temperature range -40 to +60C and, with appropriate derating, they can be used at up to 85C.

Safety standards UL1283 and EN60939 do not cover operation below -25C but, when they are used at higher temperatures, the filters fully meet the requirements of these standards. Request a free brochure from TDK-Lambda UK ...
