Datalight Reliance file system support is now available for the Nucleus RTOS from Accelerated Technology.

Datalight Reliance file system support is now available for the Nucleus RTOS from Accelerated Technology.

Now OEMs developing Nucleus-based devices can easily and cost-effectively implement a highly reliable fault-tolerant file system specifically designed for embedded systems.

"One of Datalight's goals for Reliance is to develop versions for each of the major embedded operating systems", said David Cloutier, President of Datalight.

"We added support for Nucleus RTOS customers because of its strong reputation in the development community and its growing share of the embedded systems market".

"Datalight Reliance support for the Nucleus RTOS gives our customers a new file system option", said Robert Day, Director of Marketing, Accelerated Technology.

"Customers who require bullet-proof data integrity will benefit greatly by using the Datalight Reliance file system".

Typical operating environments for embedded devices can threaten data integrity.

Power glitches, systems crashes, and operator errors can disrupt file systems, causing loss of valuable data.

Introduced in 2003, Reliance is the most robust commercial transactional file system currently available for resource-constrained embedded devices.

It virtually eliminates productivity losses due to file system corruption in a wide range of embedded applications, such as retail terminals, data collectors, factory floor switches and routers.

In addition to the Nucleus RTOS, Reliance also supports other embedded operating systems.

Hypercom Corp, a leading global provider of electronic payment solutions, recently chose Reliance for the Nucleus RTOS for its new XScale-based credit card processing terminals.

Hypercom needed a file system that could protect the valuable transaction data created in a typical retail environment.

Datalight products are available via Logic Technology.
