Analyser turns to motor efficiency ratings
The Norma 5000 is a power analyser which can be used to determine the efficiency of an electric motor.
IEC 61972/DCV divides electric motors into three efficiency classes: standard, improved efficiency and high efficiency.
LEM has introduced the Norma 5000 power analyser to measure this efficiency.
The new unit exactly measures the electrical power and, with the PI1 option, the mechanical power.
These measurements allow, the efficiency to be determined for dynamic actions.
The Norma 5000 offers precise measurements, especially in frequency inverter operations, as a result of its high fundamental accuracy of 0.1%.
Its sampling rate is 1MHz, and LEM's patented high bandwidth architecture (HBA) provides a bandwidth of up to 10MHz.
The unit's compact construction makes it particularly suitable for mobile use Special emphasis has been placed on user-friendly prompting: a simple key press switches between the numerical display or the graphical evaluations, such as FFT, recorder, digital oscilloscope, and vector diagram.
The Norma 5000 can be connected to a PC for a additional analysis of the data.
Additional application areas for the Norma 5000 power analyser include lighting engineering, test labs for energy transformers, or testing capacitors and coils.
The Norma 5000 is supplied with a two-year warranty.
