PMA2 is second-generation PowerMeasure analysis software that brings the analysis capability, customisation and ease of use of LeCroy's X-Stream technology to power measurement applications.

Designed for use with LeCroy's WavePro 7000 series and WaveMaster digital oscilloscopes (DSOs), PMA2 provides unique tools so that power conversion engineers can quickly and easily view and analyse signals from switched mode power converters, such as power supplies, power semiconductors, motor drives, electronic lamp ballasts, and uninterruptible power supplies.

Using either the original PMA1 or PMA2 packages, design engineers can measure peak power, plot instantaneous power against time, safe operating area, total energy dissipation, real and apparent power, and other important power conversion measurements using LeCroy oscilloscopes from 350MHz to 6GHz in bandwidth.

Power device analysis that can be conducted with PMA2 includes instantaneous power, safe operating area (SOA), and dynamic on-resistance.

PMA2 also provides a full range of modulation analysis capability, such as signal width, duty cycle, period, or frequency modulation; level modulation; and modulation analysis for an unlimited number of events or cycles.

Line power measurements, line current harmonic measurements, and pre-compliance testing to EN 61000-3-2 can be performed with PMA2, as well.
