New from LeCroy is the WaveSurfer series of low-cost 200-500MHz digital oscilloscopes.

New from LeCroy is the WaveSurfer series of low-cost 200-500MHz digital oscilloscopes.

Because so much of the value of an oscilloscope is in what the user can see, the new WaveSurfer series contains a bright 10.4in SVGA touch screen display - 250% larger than other oscilloscopes in this class - yet it is only 6in deep and has a small footprint, so location on a bench is easy.

The WaveSurfer also provides long record capture - more than 100x the capture time of other oscilloscopes in this class and unparalleled documentation and connectivity capability.

The new series is available from Eur 4450.

The WaveSurfer series offers both two- and four-channel instruments with bandwidths of 200, 350 and 500MHz.

All six models offer a 2Gsample/s maximum sample rate with a long 250us capture time at full sample rate (250,000 points per channel).

LeCroy provides additional industry leading features in this class of oscilloscopes by adding a 10/100Base-T network port, three USB 2.0 ports, passive probes, 3-year warranty and 7 years of long-term support all as standard provisions.

An optional battery pack allows users to operate the oscilloscope without the need for AC power.
