The HNC course in electronics by open/distance learning is ideally suited to those who are unable to attend college on either a full- or part-time basis.

The course is designed on a flexible open/distance learning basis.

There are no time limits placed on commencement or completion of the modules.

Students can progress at their own pace, thus fitting in with their commitments at home and at work.

The HNC in electronics consists of core modules (compulsory units), a choice of a number of modules within the principles and technology group and the remainder from the large selection of options modules that are available.

A student needs to obtain 12 credits to obtain a HNC in electronics.

This course is accredited by SQA and on obtaining a HNC students can be eligible to up to 75% credit transfer towards the first year of a BEng degree in multidiscipline engineering course via an English university (also available by open learning, but with formal examinations) or worth 120 points via the degree through the Open University.

It is a nationally and in many cases an internationally recognised engineering qualification.
