Specialist supplier of RF and microwave components and services, Link Microtek, has been appointed as exclusive UK distributor for Focus Microwaves, the Canadian manufacturer of microwave test and measuring equipment "Our extensive customer base in the UK includes many engineers designing amplifier subsystems and MMIC amplifiers", commented Link's managing director, Steve Cranstone, "and often these are the very people who have a requirement for automated microwave test equipment such as the range of products offered by Focus Microwaves"

At the heart of the Focus range is the CCMT computer-controlled microwave tuner series, which provides a rapid and accurate method of characterising transistors and greatly facilitates the process of optimising amplifier designs.

"As well as featuring fully automated operation, the Focus products incorporate powerful Windows-based software that really gives them an edge over the competition", said Cranstone.

Focus Microwaves' president, Christos Tsironis, said: "We are pleased to have found a high-calibre operation like Link Microtek to distribute our products in the UK.

With its depth of technical knowledge and understanding of the market, the company is poised to have a significant impact on our sales this year".
