Microwave components on short lead times
Link Microtek has produced a new shortform brochure providing an overview of the wide range of Narda microwave components now available from stock in the UK and continental Europe.
ComNet will be run by the NPL and Link Microtek on behalf of the National Measurement System Policy Unit of the DTI.
To help it reach a wide audience, the club will be promoted via the Electromagnetics and Communications Professional Networks of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
By bringing together academics, companies, user groups and individuals, ComNet will provide a means by which smaller organisations can directly contact and obtain advice from representatives of top research organisations, standards committees and accreditation bodies.
Speaking at the club's inaugural meeting, ComNet chairman, Tony Norris of Link Microtek, said: "It is important that we establish appropriate mechanisms for disseminating information to small organisations that do not have the time to regularly attend club meetings, and to this end, we are planning to introduce an online forum in the near future".
Over the coming months and years, Norris expects ComNet to be addressing technical issues in areas such as nonionising radiation measurement methods, field strength calculations and predictions, 3G technologies, wireless internet access, DECT, broadband access technologies and satellite communications - in fact, anything to do with communications technology.
Further information about ComNet and details of forthcoming meetings are available from the NPL website at www.npl.co.uk/comnet or www.iee.org/OnComms/pn.
