Integrated VCOs pack in more microwave functions
Now available from Link Microtek is a new range of low-cost, plastic-packaged MMIC voltage controlled oscillators (VCOs) that feature a high level of integrated functionality.
Fabricated using interchangeable thin-film GaAs FET modules, the device is available in 5, 10, 20 and 40GHz versions.
It has a 200MHz bandwidth, an output power of up to +30dBm and an input/output VSWR of 1.35:1.
Standard features include an output filter and a single power supply with internal regulation and reverse-polarity protection.
In addition, the FO-CDA can be specified with optional gain control and output power detector circuitry for use in closed-loop AGC systems, as well as an optional internal analogue phase shifter, which would be used to phase-lock clock signals to data for synchronous transmitters or for receiver clock recovery.
