A new range of waveguide bandpass filters features a Chebyshev-type response, making them ideal for applications requiring a sharp frequency cutoff.

Advanced Microtek, the manufacturing division of Basingstoke-based microwave and RF specialist Link Microtek, has introduced a new range of waveguide bandpass filters that feature a Chebyshev-type response, making them ideal for applications requiring a sharp frequency cutoff.

Known as the AM-BP1 series, the filters are available in a choice of materials, all with a matt black painted finish.

As well as the popular brass-and-copper combination, the filters can be produced in aluminium for designs where weight is a key consideration, while the high dimensional stability of Invar makes this material suitable for use whenever the filters are likely to be exposed to large variations in temperature.

The new filter series comprises four standard parts, offering passband frequency ranges of 7.25-7.75, 7.90-8.40, 9.40-9.80 and 14.00-14.50GHz.

They all have a maximum insertion loss of 0.6dB, a minimum rejection of 60dB, and can be specified with either UBR-type flanges or SMA, N-type or TNC coaxial connectors.

In addition to the range of standard products, Advanced Microtek offers a rapid-turnaround service for the design and manufacture of custom waveguide filters.

There are no minimum order quantity requirements, and the company is more than willing to supply one-off prototypes - even in aluminium.
