Link Microtek has entered the wireless broadband market with a portfolio of products designed to cover both indoor and outdoor IEEE802.11b applications.

Link Microtek, the specialist supplier and manufacturer of RF and microwave components, systems and services, has entered the wireless broadband market with a portfolio of products designed to cover both indoor and outdoor IEEE802.11b applications Unlike most of the companies operating in this sector, Link Microtek has many years' experience in the design and implementation of RF and microwave communication systems, coupled with extensive in-house knowledge of networking, software and security issues

Using the 2.45GHz licence-free ISM band, Link's new range of IEEE802.11b-compatible products includes high-speed wireless access points, client base stations, gateways and line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight antennas, as well as a selection of PCMCIA wireless cards, adaptors and USB radios.

This inexpensive equipment enables reliable transfer of data at speeds in excess of 11Mbit/s in both indoor wireless LAN applications and outdoor building-to-building systems.

The products can also be used to provide low-cost "last mile" communications for wireless ISPs.

Link Microtek offers guidance and support to customers throughout the life of a project, from the initial definition of system requirements to the supply and installation of all hardware and software, including the provision of after-sales technical support.
