The FO-MDA-40 series is a lithium-niobate modulator driver amplifier for applications in OC-768 high-speed fibre-optic communications systems.

Link Microtek has expanded its portfolio of Narda products with the addition of a lithium-niobate modulator driver amplifier designed for applications in OC-768 high-speed fibre-optic communications systems Known as the FO-MDA-40 series, the new device delivers a maximum datarate of 44Gbit/s and is available in two different models offering output eye amplitudes of either 6.0 or 7.5V peak-to-peak

Standard features include output voltage control down to a minimum of 3V, a low jitter value of 0.5ps, crossing point control and output voltage dither capability.

In addition, the FO-MDA-40 can be specified with a temperature-compensated output level detection facility.

Operating from a +/-9V DC power supply, the device is internally regulated and features automatic DC bias sequencing.

Its operating temperature is -5 to +80C.
