Clock oscillator for critical timing
applications
A new clock oscillator has been specifically designed for critical timing applications in OC-768 high-speed fibre-optic communication systems.
A new clock oscillator has been specifically designed for critical timing applications in OC-768 high-speed fibre-optic communication systems Manufactured by Narda, the FO-CL-40-00 clock oscillator supports datarates up to 40Gbit/s and is suitable for use in both Sonet and SDH transmission systems
The new device uses ultrastable DRO (dielectric resonator oscillator) technology, achieving an exceptionally low phase noise figure of typically -76dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset.
Operating from a +/-12V DC power supply, the clock oscillator features an output power of +5dBm and a tuning voltage range of 3 to 5V.
It is fabricated using low-cost surface-mount technology, making it ideal for high-volume designs.
The FO-CL-40-00 has an operating temperature range of -30 to +70C, and it is housed in a robustly constructed package measuring just 57.2 x 50.8 x 22.4mm.
