Power amp answers RF design challenges
The latest quad-band GSM GPRS power amplifier module (PAM) from TriQuint Semiconductor offers high efficiency at low cost in a 7 x 7 x 1.3mm package.
The latest quad-band GSM GPRS power amplifier module (PAM) from TriQuint Semiconductor offers high efficiency at low cost in a 7 x 7 x 1.3mm package.
Unlike some competing solutions, the TQM7M4022 PAM provides advanced internal voltage reference and power control functionality in a low-pin-count package compatible with existing phone PCB design and manufacturing techniques.
The design of the TQM7M4022 uses the high integration features of TriQuint's second-generation InGaP HBT 150mm process to minimise application circuit complexity.
Only two external components are required to complete the application circuit in most phone designs, and the new module's low pin count of 17 ensures good solderability and ease-of-use in PCB design and assembly.
The TQM7M4022 offers a highly competitive quad-band RF and DC performance over temperature, process and voltage, including an output power of 35dBm for the GSM850/900 band and 33dBm for the DCS/PCS band.
