Monitor logs RF fields and warns of
danger
The new Nardalert XT 8861 series RF radiation monitor is designed for use by communications engineers working in strong ELF fields such as those found in the vicinity of high-voltage power lines.
The new Nardalert XT 8861 series RF radiation monitor from Link Microtek has been designed for use by communications engineers working in strong ELF (extremely low frequency) fields such as those found in the vicinity of high-voltage power lines Manufactured by Narda Safety Test Solutions, the new personal monitor offers protection against overexposure to RF (radio frequency) radiation by alerting the user when a preset threshold is exceeded

Microwave components on short lead times
Link Microtek has produced a new shortform brochure providing an overview of the wide range of Narda microwave components now available from stock in the UK and continental Europe.
Whereas other personal monitors can be susceptible to false alarms in strong ELF fields, the 8861 series overcomes this problem with a special conductive coating on the inside of its housing, which blocks the low-frequency signals and provides an ELF immunity of 100kV/m.
Covering the frequency range 10MHz to 100GHz, the 8861 series is available in a range of models with frequency response individually shaped to match the requirements of all major worldwide standards.
An adjustable alarm is provided for two-tier standards, allowing different limits to be specified for say 'occupational' and 'general population' exposure.
The monitor's RF field strength indicator consists of five high-intensity LEDs, which are clearly visible while wearing the device - even outdoors in the sun.
If an exposure limit is exceeded, the user is alerted by built-in vibration and/or audio alarms.
A data logging function enables the monitor to store up to 30,000 data points for subsequent downloading and analysis on a PC.
At default setting, the average field strength is recorded every 5s - providing more than 40 hours of information - and an optional interface kit enables the user to adjust the logging interval as well as various other parameters.
Measuring just 105 x 76 x 35mm and weighing only 157g, the 8861 series has an operating temperature range of -10 to +55C and is powered by a single AA alkaline battery.
The unit is supplied complete with pocket clip, belt clip, plastic storage box, battery and instruction manual.
