A new range of U-style rotary waveguide joints are claimed to offer superior performance to inline rotary joints in broadband applications.

Link Microtek has a new range of U-style rotary waveguide joints, which offer superior performance to inline rotary joints in broadband applications The new AM-RJU series rotary joints are designed to provide the link between stationary and movable parts in a microwave communication system and are particularly suitable for use with sat-com rotating dish antennas

Manufactured from either brass or aluminium, the devices feature a rugged construction and a noncontact design for long operating life even in the most demanding installations.

The U-style rotary joints are available in a variety of sizes for applications in the C, X and J frequency bands, and they can be specified with or without mounting flanges.

Featuring a maximum continuous power rating of 500W, the joints are precision engineered to ensure a maximum insertion loss of only 0.15dB and a typical VSWR of 1.2:1.

Operating temperature range is specified as -40 to +85C.

The AM-RJU joints are manufactured to the highest standards under Link Microtek's BS EN ISO9001:2000 company-wide quality management system.

In addition to the standard range, Link can also produce custom designs to satisfy individual requirements.
