Modulator driver suits high-speed
optical systems
The TGA4953-SCC-SL is a surface-mount optical modulator driver that has been designed primarily for applications in OC-192 high-speed fibre-optic communication systems.
New from Link Microtek, the TGA4953-SCC-SL is a surface-mount optical modulator driver that has been designed primarily for applications in OC-192 high-speed fibre-optic communication systems Manufactured by TriQuint Semiconductor, the new MSA-compliant device consists of two high-performance wideband amplifiers combined with off-chip circuitry, all assembled into a surface-mount package measuring only 11.4 x 8.9 x 2.0mm
The TGA4953 provides a number of key features for designers of metropolitan and long-haul systems, including a maximum datarate of 12.5Gbit/s, a typical power dissipation of just 1.1W, a wide drive range of 3-10V, and a low output jitter of typically 1ps RMS.
In addition, the new optical modulator driver offers 25ps edge rates, together with very low rail ripple and a low input drive sensitivity of 250mV.
