Internet-based training course is aimed at anyone whose job involves working with electric and magnetic fields.

Link Microtek has devised an Internet-based training course for anyone whose job involves working with electric and magnetic fields.

Known as EMF Worker, the new e-learning course provides users with an introduction to the basic concepts of EMF energy and its effects on the human body, followed by an overview of safety guidelines, monitoring equipment and typical hazards.

Designed to enable users to learn the fundamentals of EMF safety at their own pace, the course features simple navigation buttons and a concise help section.

By rolling the cursor over the section headings in the main menu, the user can view pop-up summaries of each subject, while indicators alongside the headings change colour as each section is completed.

Also available at the click of a button is a useful glossary of terms providing straightforward explanations of common terms and units associated with EMF safety.

A self-assessment section at the end of the course provides users with the opportunity to gauge their understanding of the material presented, and those who pass the assessment are issued with a course completion certificate.

EMF Worker is offered at the relatively low cost of GBP 35 per head, and it is also available as an intranet-based course for larger organisations requiring this facility.
