Thermal profiling aids process
efficiency
Compact unit provides a high data sampling rate, greater memory capacity and excellent data precision.
New from Link Hamson, the KIC Explorer thermal profiler uses proven KIC thermal profiling technology in a really compact unit The KIC Explorer's easy to use software has a graphical interface to guide the user through each stage of the profiling task and uses the Process Window Index statistic to automatically find the thermal profile with the best fit to the available process window

Assembly labels resist high temperatures
Use of a green high-temperature label at the start of the process reduces both the number of labels required, and the number of label placements, providing a significant cost saving.
Filters to clean up on lead-free work
Filter systems have a unique micro-gas filter to provide the performance that is required in demanding environments.
The KIC Explorer has been developed to manage the many complexities of the modern thermal process, but in a very small package, so as to pass through the restrictive dimensions encountered in many processes.
The 12-channel unit has a cross section of just 60 x 18mm.
As standard the unit has 12 thermocouples, which use an ingenious miniature thermocouple harness design, to give a low cost of ownership when compared with standard type K thermocouples.
The unit provides a high data sampling rate, greater memory capacity and excellent data precision.
KIC's reputation for product innovation is further enhanced by the KIC Explorer hardware/software combination.
In addition to measuring and collecting critical profile data including slope, peak temperature and time above liquidus the software calculates the Process Window Index.
This is an objective way to determine how good the fit of each thermal profile is to the available process window, it instantly shows how "good" the profile is and when the oven setup needs to be changed.
Interpretation of the data in this way provides significant time and cost savings.
The optional KIC Auto-Focus is available to automate the process optimisation, it automatically "googles" the billions of alternative oven setups and selects the single best combination of settings to provide the optimum set up for each product.
