Manufacturing testers turn to ZigBee devices

A LitePoint Corp product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team May 10, 2007

Production test programs allow ZigBee products to be tested by one-box test instruments and saving substantial manufacturing costs.

LitePoint now provides test support for popular ZigBee 802.15.4-based wireless products.

The LitePoint ZigBee Software Package is designed for use with existing LitePoint IQview and IQflexTest Solutions.

Production test programs for the manufacturing floor can now be developed that allow ZigBee products to be tested by one-box test instruments and saving substantial manufacturing costs.

"As the market leader in the WLAN test space, we dedicate ourselves to being the premiere provider of a complete family of test products to support our broad installed base of world-class manufacturers", said Sireesha Mallipeddi, LitePoint Director Product Management.

"Providing ZigBee support to our customers, along with complete legacy and MIMO Wi-Fi and WiMAX test solutions, means the lowest manufacturing cost required for high volume consumer products for our customers".

The LitePoint ZigBee Software Package expands ZigBee test capability to the large base of owners of the popular IQview and IQflex 802.11a/b/g/n one-box testers.

IQview/IQflex has integrated vector signal analyser (VSA) and vector signal generator (VSG) for faster test times.

When installed, the ZigBee software package is automatically recognised by the IQview/IQflex test analysis software and the software integrates seamlessly into the test environment adding ZigBee test capability for both R and D and manufacturing applications.

ZigBee DUT (device under test) test commands are made through the chip vendor's test control interface for faster set-up times and the unique LitePoint capture-once-measure-all hardware implementation allows full transmitter and receiver testing with very few signal captures for the fastest test times.

ZigBee software demodulates and displays critical transmitter measurements like EVM and carrier frequency offset with the same ease and test time as the basic power and spectrum measurements.

For receiver testing IQview/IQflex internal VSG can send packets to the DUT and the IQfact software calculates the packet error rate (PER).

The LitePoint ZigBee Software package is available now and is priced at US $2200 and is licensed on a per-use basis with site licence packages available.
