EcoGreen fabric-over-foam EMI shielding gaskets have been designed to comply with EU RoHS and WEEE Directives.

Now available from Laird Technologies is its new EcoGreen fabric-over-foam electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding gaskets designed specifically in response to recent environmental directives such as the European Union's RoHS and WEEE that restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment Laird Technologies is the world's leading designer and manufacturer of EMI shielding materials, thermal interface products and wireless antenna solutions

With continuing commitment to enhancing the environment all of its fabric-over-foam shields are RoHS compliant and EcoGreen shields exceed the requirement as they are halogen-free (per the IEC61249-2-21 standard).

Not only are EcoGreen gaskets environmentally friendly, they also offer high EMI shielding effectiveness, extremely low compression forces, abrasion resistant metallised fabrics and large service temperature ranges.

The gasket profiles can be cut to specific lengths, kiss-cut or mitered to form frame configurations and are available with a variety of pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes.

"Laird Technologies is introducing this new technology because we are committed to meeting or exceeding necessary agency regulations without compromising product effectiveness", said Joe Chen, Global Product Director.

"We know these environmental regulations are important to our customers; therefore, it is important to us".

Ideal EcoGreen applications include computer servers, desktop or notebook computers, digital cameras, liquid crystal displays, medical equipment, plasma display panels, printers, set top boxes and telecommunications enclosure cabinets.
