Fuses go lead-free
Littelfuse has introduced lead-free versions of its axial-leaded 2AG series of subminiature glass fuses, 3AG glass and ceramic fuses, 3AB ceramic fuses and 5 x 20mm glass and ceramic-bodied fuses.
Rated power at 23C ambient air temperature is 4W without cover or with opaque reflow cover, or 2.5W with transparent cover.
Operating temperature range is -40 to +85C and vibration resistance is up to 60Hz at a constant amplitude of 0.75mm and more than 60Hz at constant acceleration of 10g.
Solderability is 235C for 2s, and soldering heat resistance 260C for 10s.
Contact resistance is 5mohm.
The 656 series can be supplied in bulk (100-off) and the 658 series in either bulk (100-off) or tape and reel (400-off).
Body material is black thermoplastic (UL94V0) with tin plated copper alloy metal parts.
For high-volume users the fuseholders can be supplied with the correct user-specified fuse installed, ready for manual or automatic placement on the PCB.
This saves the usual final operation of hand inserting the fuse into the holder with the associated risk of incorrect fuse assembly.
