A new range of chip fuses includes the smallest devices of their type The FCD family from Wickmann Components is available in 0402, 0603, 0805 and 1206 sizes, the 0402 being the smallest chip fuse currently available on the world market

The use of metal film technology on heat-resistant ceramic substrate provides much greater tolerance to heat and shock than other subminiature fuses.

Typical applications include mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras, printers, fans and telecomms equipment.

The fuses' fast-acting time/current characteristics, low internal resistance and interrupt ratings of up to 50A/50V DC ensure excellent overcurrent protection.

Current ratings range from 250mA to 5A, with other ratings under development.

Operating temperature range is -55 to +125C and solderability is 235C for 2s.

All FCD fuses are UL approved and are supplied in tape and reel packaging.
