LEM has added the LAH 125-P model to its LAH current transducer family.

LEM has added the LAH 125-P model to its LAH current transducer family The new transducer, rated for nominal current measurements of 125A RMS, adds a higher current capability to the existing 25, 50 and 100A RMS models

As with the other models in the family, the LAH 125-P is based on the closed loop Hall effect technology principle, allowing AC, DC, and accurate pulse current measurements, and is designed to be powered from a supply of +/-12 to 15V.

It has a -3dB bandwidth of DC to 100kHz.

The transducer occupies less than 6cm2 of printed circuit board area and is only 27mm high, making it the ideal tool for high-current measurements on PCBs.

It weighs only 30g.

The primary conductor is already inserted into the transducer for an optimised coupling between primary and secondary and must also be soldered to the PCB.

This coupling design allows a di/dt of more than 100A/ms to be followed correctly and offers a response time at 90 % of nominal primary current of less than 1 ms.

Designed to operate from -40 to +85C, an accuracy at +25C of +/-0.41% is reached when a 125mA current output is provided for nominal primary current of 125A.

The new transducer is CE marked to recognise its high EMC immunity.

In spite of its extremely small dimensions, the primary and secondary circuits are sufficiently spaced to comply with the requirements of the EN50178 standard and to provide high isolation between primary and secondary (isolation test voltage 5 kV RMS/50Hz/1min).

The LAH 125-P also conforms to all other parts of the EN50178 standard, making it well suited to industrial applications, such as variable speed drives, servo-control elements, uninterruptible power supplies and switched mode power supplies.

LEM Components offers a five-year warranty for each transducer.
