Current transducer measures up to 350A
Closed-loop Hall-effect transducer is designed for use in railway applications such as propulsion inverters.
LEM has introduced the LAC 300-S, a panel-mounted current transducer for the measurement of currents up to 350A RMS.
This new closed-loop Hall-effect transducer has been designed for use in railway applications such as propulsion inverters.
It is also well suited to auxiliary inverter requirements (used for air conditioning, battery chargers etc), thanks to its attractive price and high performance level.
This new transducer is only 56mm high.
It features a wide maximum bandwidth of DC to 50kHz and an overall accuracy of better than +/-0.7% at a primary nominal RMS current of 350A.
Typical linearity error is +/-0.1% at 350A and the maximum offset temperature drift is 500uA from -40 to +85C.
The closed-loop Hall-effect technology results in no insertion losses and a fast response time of less than 1us.
The transducer's aperture accepts busbars up to 13 x 30mm.
A Molex series 70543 plug is offered as standard for the secondary connections, for a robust connection and quick installation.
With an isolation test voltage of 6kV RMS/50Hz/1min, the transducer complies with the European EN50155 and EN50124-1 traction standards (insulation levels, creepage and clearance distances).
All materials used satisfy UL94V0 and comply with the smoke and fire classification requirements for the traction industry (NFF 16101 and 16102).
The LAC 300-S is CE marked and is supplied with a five-year warranty, as are all LEM railway products.
