LDO packs in the power and cuts the
noise
For applications requiring large input-to-output differentials, the LT1965 LDO offers a very compact and thermally effective solution.
Available now from Linear Technology, the LT1965 is a high-density low-noise low-voltage 1.1A LDO The LT1965 features low dropout voltage of only 300mV at full load, with wide input capability of 1.8 to 20V and low adjustable output from 1.2 to 19.5V

RF mixers take transformers onboard
Linear Technology has released two new high linearity up-converting RF active mixers with integrated RF transformers.
Ultralow output noise of only 40uV RMS reduces noise in instrumentation, RF, DSP and logic supply systems and is beneficial for post-regulating switching power supplies.
Output tolerance is tightly regulated to within +/-3% over line, load and temperature.
The device's low quiescent current of 500uA (operating) and less than 1uA (shutdown) make it an excellent choice for applications requiring high output drive capability with low current consumption.
The LT1965 regulator optimises stability and transient response with low ESR, ceramic output capacitors as small as 10uF.
These tiny external capacitors can be used without any necessary series resistance as is common with many other regulators.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery protection, no reverse current, current limiting with foldback and thermal limiting.
For applications requiring large input-to-output differentials, the LT1965 offers a very compact and thermally effective solution.
The IC features a wide breadth of packaging options, ranging from modern high power density, small footprint, thermally efficient DFN and MSOPE packages to more traditional DD-Pak and TO-220 power packaging.
The LT1965EDD in the low profile (0.75mm) 8-lead DFN (3 x 3mm) package, LT1965EMS8E in the 8-lead MSOP package, LT1965EQ in the surface-mount DD-Pak power package, and the LT1965ET in the TO-220 power package all are available from stock, and 1000-piece pricing starts at US $1.88, $1.94, $2.20 and $2.20 each, respectively.
The I grade versions are priced at US $2.16, $2.23, $2.53 and $2.53 each, respectively. Request a free brochure from Linear Technology Corp ...
