Handheld meter checks out laser diodes
The Wavepower handheld measuring instrument will measure simultaneously both power and wavelength of a laser diode, quickly and simply.
Two versions with either a 50ohm bipolar or a 1Mohm FET input are available for use with low or high impedance sources, respectively.
The amplifiers have a very low input noise of minimum 0.9nV/(rt)Hz, and are therefore ideally suited for applications requiring high gain at ultra-low-noise performance.
The small size of the rugged EMI shielded package allows the use close to the signal source to prevent further noise pickup due to long cables.
The internal offset control circuit offers baseline adjustment of the output.
Typical applications include time-resolved pulse and transient measurements, use as amplifier for oscilloscopes, transient-recorders, photomultipliers and microchannel plates, as well as amplification of digital signals with no baseline shift at any digital code.
The new HVA amplifiers complement the well-known DHPVA series of voltage amplifiers that additionally offer further gain settings, signal filter functions and a remote control interface.
