Laser Components has acquired the remaining shares of Optophotonics, creating a wholly owned French subsidiary company.

In a move to strengthen its position on the French market, Germany-based Laser Components has acquired the remaining shares of Optophotonics, making it a wholly owned subsidiary To profit from a unified corporate appearance the company has changed its name to Laser Components

This step is accompanied by a move into a larger facility located in the South of Paris.

This much needed expansion in office space will also bring the company closer to its main customer base.

The changes are being supervised by Christian Merry, who has been appointed General Manager following the decision of his predecessor, Gerard Chaumaison, to retire.

Merry, who has held managerial positions in sales before, brings with him more than 20 years of experience in the photonics industry.

"I am excited to join the Laser Components family and look forward to expanding our business here in France".

"I see a lot of potential for growth, especially for our high power laser optics and laser modules as well as our range of pulsed lasers and avalanche photodiodes".
