The Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) DO-254 standard titled "Design assurance guidance for airborne electronic hardware" was developed by the avionics industry to establish hardware deployment guidelines for developers, verification engineers, quality managers, installers and users from conception through initial certification and subsequent post certification product improvements.
As the first semiconductor supplier granted membership into the European (EU) DO-254 User Group, LSI Logic is leading the semiconductor industry in defining DO-254 qualification best practices.
Commenting on the importance of DO-254 certification support, Lionel Burgaud, current Head of the EU DO-254 User Group said: "DO-254 is an emerging guidance document and we collaborate to cross experiences and expertise in order to have a very practical approach for project management and tool-supported processes".
