Baqai to help change focus at LSI

Baqai reports to Jeff Richardson, Executive Vice President, Custom Solutions Group.
Previously, Baqai was CEO of Cautella, a Silicon Valley-based startup company that addresses the emerging need of mobile enterprise workforce to access corporate applications securely.
He has more than 25 years of experience in designing and managing in both semiconductor and system development.
Baqai has also held executive positions at Silicon Image, Fujitsu Microelectronics and Sun Microsystems.
"Badar's extensive design and management experience in both the consumer and storage markets will help us focus our business on these growth markets, enabling us to leverage our silicon-to-systems expertise", said Richardson.
"His diverse understanding of technology and market needs will also help us deliver silicon building blocks from cell libraries to complex processor cores within these markets".
Baqai will be responsible for integrating IP into a comprehensive set of applications to enable LSI to engage with customers at the system level.
"As a market leader in both the consumer and storage markets, I believe LSI will bring more value to customers by strengthening investments in these two growing markets", said Baqai.

Baqai holds a master's of science in electrical engineering technology from the University of California Los Angeles and an executive master's in business administration from Stanford University.
