"It has been my great pleasure to work closely with LSI for many years as it has grown to become a recognised market leader in providing silicon, systems and software for the consumer and storage markets", said Keyes.
"I look forward to leading the board in providing guidance and strong support for the company's growth objectives".
Keyes holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Marquette University and an MBA degree from Northwestern University.
He currently serves as a director for Navistar International and Pitney Bowes.
