Web-based calibration management system
Livingston's web-based calibration management system has proved a valuable and popular tool for customers by dramatically relieving the burden of managing the calibration process.
Testers take on MAN interfaces
Demand for equipment to support the testing of the various interfaces supplied by OEMs within the Metropolitan Area Network is on the increase according to Livingston.
The products, a mixture of the Powerguide 4400 and PX5 models, have been designed to replace the well-established PP4300.
Moreover, they are the first products to offer disturbance measurements to the IEC61000-4-30 standard, as well as report on EN50160, which is a standard for the supply of electricity in Europe.
Since the liberalisation of the energy market, Livingston has seen a significant increase in the utilisation of its power products.
The increase is attributed primarily to recent legislative changes penalising companies who exceed power consumption limits.
In an effort to comply and avoid hefty surcharges, companies are turning to Livingston for test equipment to help develop detailed energy surveys and monitor power quality, reliability and suitability.
Livingston expects its industrial and power business to continue to expand as more customers initiate compliance projects.
Moreover, this investment will allow Livingston to provide the most up-to-date solutions to its customers.
"Livingston's association with Dranetz BMI stretches back almost 30 years", says Ian Murdoch of IMH Technologies.
"The new units make measurements against the international standards for power quality and now include functionality that was previously only available through the use of task cards".
Geoff Kempster, Livingston's Inventory Manager states: "The compact, easy-to-use Dranetz BMI units are ideal rental products for anyone that uses mains electricity and needs to monitor power quality or energy usage." The IEC61000-4-30 defines the method of measurement and interpretation of results for power quality parameters in single- and three-phase 50/60Hz power supply systems around the world.
Power quality parameters in this standard include: power frequency, supply voltage unbalance, magnitude of supply voltage, voltage and current harmonics, flicker, inter-harmonics, supply voltage dips and swells, rapid voltage changes, voltage interruptions and mains signalling.
