Scalable verification tool reduces turnaround time
Magma Design Automation, a provider of semiconductor design software, has announced the availability of Quartz DRC, a key component of the company's recently announced Cobra 2005.03 release.
Blast FPGA is specifically designed to meet the needs of high-performance, low-power FPGA designs by taking advantage of Stratix III's advanced FPGA architecture.
Blast FPGA supports Stratix III design constraints, netlists and IP or library blocks.
By building its unique design flow on top of the FPGA physical design framework, Blast FPGA offers significantly better timing for a majority of designs.
This approach not only creates a starting point for placement optimisation, but also accelerates timing closure.
Altera's new high-end Stratix III FPGAs are the industry's lowest-power, high-performance FPGAs.
The Stratix III family is designed to deliver 50% lower power, 25% higher performance and twice the density of its Stratix II predecessor, and is available in three family variants - a logic-optimised family, an enhanced-feature family with more memory and DSP blocks and a family with integrated multi-gigabit transceivers.
"Stratix III devices enable high-end FPGA designers to design with confidence and successfully bring their end systems to market".
"Our work with Magma benefits our customers by allowing them to meet their specific design requirements through performance optimisation and better area utilisation when designing with our Stratix III devices", said Danny Biran, Vice President of Product and Corporate Marketing at Altera.
"Magma's Blast FPGA offers an effective blend of increased automation and advanced technology, maximising productivity and ensuring that designers can quickly, confidently reach design closure".
"The Stratix III family of high-performance FPGAs reflects Altera's leadership in providing integrated programmable logic solutions".
"With its three family variants, Stratix III devices provide ideal solutions for a rich array of customer applications", said Kam Kittrell, general manager of the Design Implementation Business Unit at Magma.
"We are pleased to offer optimised support by working closely with Altera during the introduction of its 65nm Stratix III FPGA family".
