More light for your money with optimised LEDs
LEDs leverage latest manufacturing and semiconductor technology to achieve the best ever lumens light output per penny cost of the LED.
Drivers power up brighter LED light engines
Units are IP54 certified and UL1310 Class 2 recognised, and so are suitable for outdoor and other locations where they may be exposed to moisture.
The GLLE3011-YY14 series has an elliptical lens, offering a wide viewing angle of 65 degrees in the horizontal plane and 40 degrees in the vertical - with even illumination in every direction.
GLI colour grade the LEDs into four separate bins of 1.5nm bandwidth - most manufacturers select into 3nm groups - ensuring that there is no colour variation when used in multi-LED arrays.
Light intensity is 500mcd at 20mA.
The AlInGaP chip allows users to drive the LED with a high 50mA maximum forward continuous current, or 150mA peak pulse current.
When driven at these levels, light output reaches 1000mcd.
GLI uses a unique injection moulding process to eliminate a 'meniscus' effect on the underside of the LEDs, which means that the GLLE3011-YY14 series units are easy to mount flush onto the board.
Units also exhibit excellent resistance to the effects of temperature, salt spray and UV degradation, resulting in improved optics.
In addition, the injection moulding process allows for the manufacture of custom-shaped LEDs for specific applications.
Key markets include passenger information displays - particularly when used outdoors in high ambient light - backlighting and automotive applications.
